Forged With Purpose

We believe every meal deserves a blade worthy of the moment. At Offer Cutlery, we craft tools that bridge the ancient art of the forge with the demands of modern kitchens.

Our Story

A Passion Born
in the Workshop

Offer Cutlery began not in a boardroom, but in a small Sheffield workshop where founder James Offer spent his evenings grinding steel by hand. Trained under third-generation bladesmiths, James became obsessed with a single question: why had truly great kitchen knives become so rare?

The answer, he found, was compromise. Mass production had traded soul for scale. So he chose a different path -- one built on small batches, premium steel, and the kind of patient craftsmanship that cannot be rushed or replicated by a machine.

Today, every knife that leaves our workshop carries that same uncompromising spirit. We are not the biggest. We have no desire to be. We simply want to make the best blades you will ever hold.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Uncompromising Craft

Every blade passes through no fewer than 40 hand-finishing stages before it earns our mark. We do not cut corners because your kitchen deserves better.

Honest Materials

We source only verified high-carbon and stainless steels from certified European mills. No mystery alloys, no misleading specs -- just honest steel, honestly priced.

Made to Last

We design for decades, not seasons. Our knives are built to be passed down, not replaced. Every purchase comes with a lifetime sharpening guarantee.

Responsible Practice

We run a zero-waste workshop, recycle all steel offcuts, and offset 100% of our shipping emissions. Great craft should never cost the earth.

The Making

From Steel to Table

Each knife undergoes a meticulous journey before it reaches your kitchen. Here is how we turn raw steel into something extraordinary.

Step 01

Steel Selection

We hand-select each billet of high-carbon steel, checking hardness, grain structure, and purity before a single spark flies.

Step 02

Forging & Shaping

Heated to 1,100°C and shaped by hand under a power hammer, each blade is forged to its unique profile.

Step 03

Heat Treatment & Finishing

Precision heat-treated to Rockwell 60-62 HRC, then hand-ground, hand-polished, and edge-set to a mirror finish.

Our Home

Rooted in
Sheffield's Legacy

Sheffield has been the world's cutlery capital for over 700 years. Our workshop sits in the same neighbourhood where Victorian bladesmiths once supplied the British Empire with its finest steel. We feel the weight of that history every day.

We have deliberately kept our workshop small -- a single open-plan space where every team member can see every stage of production. There are no hidden processes, no outsourced steps, no shortcuts taken behind closed doors.

Visitors are welcome. If you are ever in Sheffield, we offer free workshop tours every Saturday morning. Come and see exactly how your knife is made.
